IST Elementary School students participate in formal sporting activities and events in football (soccer), badminton, table-tennis, athletics and cross-country through the International School Conference of Tianjin (ISCOT). Elementary sports offerings are scheduled in alignment with the regular CCA schedule, with afternoon sessions scheduled between 3:25PM until 4:25PM.
The IST Athletic Department provides students with a range of increasingly challenging opportunities to participate in sports and athletics.
These including competitive sporting events within China’s international school community in three leagues: ISCOT (Tianjin), ISAC (Beijing/Tianjin) and ACAMIS (China-wide). Our mission is to provide experiences where students develop essential training and fitness principles, practical healthy habits, and effective interpersonal skills and dispositions to support their physical, social and emotional wellness through sport.

Key resources
for students aged 3 to 11 years, focuses on the development of the whole child as an inquirer, both in the classroom and in the world outside.
for students aged 12 to 16 years, provides a framework of academic challenge that encourages students to embrace and understand the connection between traditional subjects and the real world, and become critical and reflective thinkers.
Our Elementary School offers a welcoming, inclusive international experience for children from Nursery to Grade 5 in which engaged parents and highly skilled and committed teachers work together to nurture each child’s unique academic and social-emotional learning needs in an environment of quality learning resources and world class facilities.

As our school continues to grow and flourish, and as our former students, parents, and staff spread out across the world embracing new challenges and adventures, we are mindful of the importance of actively protecting and celebrating the community threads that will forever bind us together as an international community who have shared the wonderful experience of living in Tianjin and attending IST.

We encourage all IST Alumni – and former parents, support staff, faculty and friends – to become active members of our Alumni association, and in so doing continue to nurture the tight bonds of our shared experience here in Tianjin and beyond.
Active membership of our association will mean that you will receive the regular news and information about our school and community, as well as the latest updates on the adventures and achievements of our IST friends around the world.
